  • Do you need to see my child?
If the appointment is about your child’s health then Katy will need to meet him or her for the initial appointment. Schools are usually very flexible about allowing children to attend the appointment during school hours. We appreciate young children can get wriggly and bored during a long appointment and sometimes a parent prefers to discuss sensitive issues out of earshot. In these situations we advise that two adults attend the appointment and takes the child back home or out to play nearby after the first 20 minutes of the appointment. Your child does not need to attend follow ups but we would ideally meet in-clinic annually if long term support is needed.
  • What do I do before my appointment?
To allow Katy to make best use of consultation time together, we ask that you complete a comprehensive health questionnaire prior to the appointment. Please complete this and return it by email, along with copies of any previous biomedical test results (if you have them) 2 days ahead of your appointment.
  • What do I bring to my appointment?
Your child’s NHS Health Record (“Red Book”) – if you still have it- which includes their vaccination and medical history, including early growth and development. Video footage of any specific behaviours in your child that you may wish to discuss can also be very helpful. There are some toys and activities in the clinic, but if your child has a specific game/book/activity that they enjoy, please bring this along with you to occupy and settle them.
  • Can I bring other members of the family along to the appointment?
We need to ensure that the waiting area does not get overcrowded as this can cause problems with other patients or clinicians in the building. Please therefore keep numbers of people attending the appointment to a bare minimum. Having any more people than absolutely necessary in a consultation room is also not ideal. Sometimes we see whole families at a time, but generally it is best to bring another adult who can keep other children occupied. There are open spaces and family friendly cafés very close to both clinics.
  • Can I have an appointment for the whole family?
Katy offers two-hour family appointments. This covers up to three children or two children and one adult. If you have additional children or adults that you need reviewing then please add on an additional 30 minutes per person. It is best to book an individual adult or child with complex needs or health issues separately.
  • Do you see babies?
Yes babies from six weeks old are most welcome.
  • Are your services covered by insurance?
Services are considered complimentary by many insurers and are not covered by the major insurance companies, but it is worth checking with your personal provider just in case.
  • Are you allergen-free?
We cannot guarantee that clinic rooms are allergen free. If you or your child is extremely allergic to a specific food or environmental allergen then please book a virtual consultation.
  • How much do appointments cost?
Please contact reception to discuss prices and availability on 020 3397 1824 reception@naturedoc.co.uk
  • Why choose a nutritionist with a degree accredited by The Association for Nutrition?
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree accredited by The Association for Nutrition (AfN) is gold-standard when it comes to obtaining a nutrition qualification. This provides a guarantee that the nutritionist will have received evidence-based training and a qualification which is recognised by the NHS. It is important to check background qualifications when choosing a nutritionist, ensuring that they have completed the minimum of an undergraduate degree at an established university, this will ensure you receive safe and accurate advice.
